Competitions, Lotteries and Canvassing

Competitions

A trade promotion/competition lottery is a lottery conducted to promote the sale of goods or the use of services, in which every participant takes part:
without cost to him; or by reason of the purchase of goods or the use of services, the cost of which is no more than the cost would be without the opportunity to take part in the lottery.

Provided you meet the prescribed conditions associated with a trade promotion lottery, then you are not required to apply for a permit to operate your competition, but you must conduct your competition in accordance with these conditions.

This  permit is your approval to conduct the competition, but you must conduct your competition in accordance with the conditions expressed on this permit.
